It's a Date!

I woke up this morning to the wonderful news that we have an appointment with the SDA in Kiev on December 15th! We are praising God today for His faithfulness! Join us! He is so good! We can hardly wait to wrap our arms around those boys! This means that Christmas will be spent away from our biological boys, however. Prayers for their hearts are appreciated. Perhaps we will have a Ukrainian Christmas all together on January 7th! We'll see. But we are delighted that we have a date and are purchasing tickets later today. Please share the link to the raffle with your friends and family! Now is when things get expensive! Expensive...but exciting! Thanks to all who have been praying!

  1. OH MY GOODNESS! Congrats!

    {On a practical note, may I ask how long it took once you submitted for one???}

    Praying for you ALL ... I'm sure God will smooth your way. We'll be keeping you in prayer as you are in Ukraine.

  2. We Fed Exed our final documents (those that needed to be edited) September 30. Then once they were received, the SDA shut down. It's just reopened around 2 weeks ago. Normally, it doesn't take that long.

  4. ...ish. We got the papers there at the beginning of October. It took a little longer for the dossier to be accepted because there were corrections to be made. I will say this- ask about notary requirements at your state capital. Ask them for a booklet on the requirements for a document to be apostilled. It was quite the ordeal here. We had several notaries (who worked for BANKS for crying out loud) who were NOT bonded. We made around 6 trips to the capital building (which is an hour and a half away). Had we not encountered those issues, we might be there already. But God is in control and I'm sure His timing is perfect. Just FYI for your adoption, Lisa. Also, other friends who have adopted from that area received only a weeks notice for their trip, so BE READY, girl!
